Willow Eating Spoons
Here we have a couple of nice simple eating spoons that focus on function and showing off the beauty of the timber in it's natural state, preserving a little bit of the cambium layer of the wood adds some visual interest and makes the spoon's origins and orientation in the branch evident.
Both from the same tree and carved in from the bark side of the log with the main difference being that one was carved from a tangentially cleft billet of straight timber and the other from a nice branch union crook.
The crook is the spoon featured in my recent youtube video, spoon and a brew. If you already follow me on instagram you might have also seen the other one taking shape there.
