Chip Carving Knife 25mm

The 25mm long, slightly cranked blade is dedicated to chip carving work on spoons and other small projects. Made from Wolfram special tool steel for it's fine edge holding and wear resistance, the bevels are ground at around 18 degrees inclusive to produce a very fine edge and slim, penetrating profile.

With this edge geometry there is a fine line of compromise between efficient performance and strength. I have engineered these tools with performance as the priority so they should be used with mechanical sympathy in mind to minimise the chance of damage. That said quick and easy repairs can be made to the tip without changing the edge geometry by simply rubbing the spine on a course sharpening stone until a fresh pointy tip is restored.

Fitted with an ergonomically faceted hardwood handle and supplied with a simple wine cork blade cover to keep cost down. If you would prefer a hand stitched leather sheath for this little knife please email me after purchase and I can upgrade to this for an extra £20
